School Visits
Would you like for me to visit your school? Full information about my school programs is available here. Presentations are tailored to meet your school’s needs. Typical assembly and classroom presentations are 45 minutes.
Assembly presentations focus on fun, funny, entertaining readings of Jeff’s poems. Opportunities abound for audience participation.
Young poets classroom presentations (K-2) include more fun examples of Jeff’s poems, along with a lesson on rhyme and an opportunity for the class to write a poem.
Emerging poets classroom presentations (3-5) emphasize techniques for writing good poems, including discussion of style, form, rhyme and meter.
Poem-to-song presentations (availability limited) examine the relationship between poems and songs, and demonstrate the process of making a song from a poem.
Cost: Contact me at jeff@jeffspoemsforkids.com for a quote. Special pricing is available for schools in central Illinois (e.g., Bloomington, Danville, Decatur, Effingham, Normal, Springfield, etc.), along with schools in the Chicago, Indianapolis and St. Louis metropolitan areas.
Books and CDs: During school visits, students can purchase the various Meadowbrook anthologies that have included my poems, a terrific book for scrapbookers that has several of my poems, a fun new Halloween CD that includes one of my songs, and also a CD with 15 of my poems performed as songs. Your school receives $1 back for each book and CD sold, and I also donate copies of the Meadowbrook books to your school libary!
